Portrait of a Woman, 2025
Cotton thread, cyanotype, wood, transparent thread, beads
11.5 x 14.5 x 2.5 in, $500
The idea for this piece originated from the anonymity of lace-making. For so long, lace was hand-made through careful creation, dedication, and patience, but was passed through generations anonymously. Although we may not know the women who dedicated their lives to this craft, we still possess the knowledge they shared. With “Portrait of a Woman,” I hope to create a work to commemorate and show that even though we may not know their names and faces, we know these women through the legacy that they have left.
