Forest, 2024
Cotton thread, twine, driftwood, animal teeth, beads
19 x 17 in, $350
Inspired by the forest I grew up surrounded by, this piece features tatted lace connected to driftwood and adorned with animal claws. The green lace recalls the slow, attentive act of making, which mirrors the patience found in observing nature. The claws symbolize the fierceness and beauty found in forests, while the driftwood shows the softness that can be found as well. This work is a dialogue between delicacy and wildness while also admiring nature.
