The experimentation with paper and embroidery in this piece came from collecting acorns near my house. I found that the paper I dyed with them resulted in compelling textures and with this art piece I hope to give back to the tree that made the dye. “Black Oak” was created in winter, and by this time all the leaves and acorns are gone, but the dye still remains.
